SUMMARY:A Paddle and A Picnic Spring 2026
DESCRIPTION:Support Sustainable Sandhills at A Paddle and A Picnic on Saturday\, May 30th! Participants will enjoy a six mile out-and-back guided paddling expedition on the beautiful Cape Fear River with an upscale catered picnic and after party. \nThe launch site is Cape Fear River Adventures\, 100 S. Main Street\, Lillington\, NC 27546. \nParticipants must be 12 years of age or older. All minors under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Participants should arrive at the launch site between 11:00AM and 11:30AM. Launch is at 12PM. The paddling portion of the trip is about 3 hours long. Paddlers may bring their own kayaks or canoes. Rental kayaks are available for an additional fee. \nPICNIC LUNCH MENU BY BEEHIVE YOURSELF \n• Honey Mustard Chicken Salad Slider \n• Tomato Cucumber Salad \n• Hummus with Fresh Vegetables \n• Watermelon and Summer Berries \n• Truffle Deviled Egg \n• Homemade Oatmeal Creme Pie \nTickets are $40 for participants who bring their own canoes or kayaks or $90 for participants who wish to rent a kayak for the day. A portion of the proceeds will benefit Sustainable Sandhills and fund water quality programs in the region. \nReservations must be made by Friday\, May 22ND. Ticket sales are NON-REFUNDABLE. Unclaimed tickets will be considered donations to Sustainable Sandhills. Transform your garden into a thriving ecosystem with plants that are North Carolina tough! Our 2026 Online Sale features a massive selection of perennials\, grasses\, and shrubs specifically chosen to support our local bees\, butterflies\, and birds. \nFirst come\, first served! Quantities of each plant species are limited and will be reserved when the order is placed. \nPlants will be ready for pick up at the Extension Center located at 2420 Tramway Road\, Sanford N.C. on Thursday\, May 21st from 1:00PM-4:00PM and May 22nd from 9:00AM-1:00PM. You can also join both days for time in the Garden too!
